Hacker in $160 Million Wintermute Theft Now Holds 28% of Curve 3CRV Pool
Community contributors to PeckShield have discovered that the address tagged as Wintermute Exploiter has become the largest holder of $3CRV, accounting for 28% of the total tokens. in September 2022, Wintermute suffered a $160 million attack in which the attackers deposited $114 million into Curve, making it one of DeFi one of the largest attacks in its history.
The $3CRV held by the Wintermute attackers caused concern in the cryptocurrency community as the attackers could manipulate the market and cause losses.
The Curve Finance 3CRV pool is the largest liquidity pool on the Curve Finance decentralized trading platform, designed for stablecoin swaps. 3CRV pool consists of three stablecoins: $DAI, $USDC and $USDT.
