Ripple CEO: Harris could reset US cryptocurrency regulation
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse took to social media platform X on Wednesday to share his thoughts on VP Kamala Harris and cryptocurrency policy. First, he warned that “making conclusions and assumptions about candidates based purely on political positions without any policy recommendations is holding back the crypto industry (similar to what tribalism has been doing for years),” adding that VP Harris is no stranger to Silicon Valley, and that she has an incredible opportunity to re align key issues of U.S. competitiveness (such as cryptocurrency regulation). Garlinghouse noted that he remains open-minded, but warned that if Harris adopts Senator Elizabeth Warren's rhetoric, she may underestimate the political complexities involving figures such as SEC Chairman Gary Jansler.
