Bitcoin Trading Volume Hit $130 Billion Yesterday, A Record High
Bitcoin (BTC) trading volume reached a record high of $130 billion yesterday (January 23), according to checkonchain. Trading volume has soared since President Trump won the U.S. election in early November, doubling from a daily average of $65 billion. The futures market (the total number of futures contracts traded) reached $110 billion yesterday. This is the fifth highest futures trading volume on record, and the spot market traded around $15 billion, which is close to its all-time high. Meanwhile, the Bitcoin ETF traded around $5 billion, about half of its March 2024 all-time high.
