U.S. House Financial Services Committee Chairman: Supports Trump's Digital Assets Executive Order
U.S. House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill and Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Artificial Intelligence Chairman Bryan Steil issued a joint statement expressing support for Trump's signing of an executive order related to digital assets. The two chairmen said that the President's Task Force on Digital Asset Markets will strengthen U.S. leadership on the international stage. Notably, they also emphasized their stance on banning the issuance of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) in the U.S., arguing that it is consistent with the goal of protecting Americans' financial privacy.
