According to Cointelegraph, on May 8, SEC Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw publicly stated that if the Ripple settlement agreement is approved, it will further weaken the SEC's legal credibility in crypto regulation and erode the court's role in interpreting securities laws. She criticized that such settlements have become a "chain of concessions," harming investor interests and causing the SEC's internal legal stance to waver continuously.
