Jinse Finance reported that since the launch of the Bitcoin network in 2009, the number of independent addresses holding a balance of more than 0.1 bitcoin has increased every year up to 2023. However, over the past 24 months, the size of this group has been continuously shrinking. Specific data shows that from December 8, 2023, to the present, the number of such addresses has dropped from 4,548,107 to 4,443,541. Analyzing this indicator through charting reveals that, although there were several brief fluctuations lasting several months during this period, the overall number of independent addresses showed a steady upward trend, reaching a peak in December 2023. Entering 2024, this figure remained stagnant for most of the time, then began to decline, falling to what is now a historic two-year low.
