the golden bull run? for real? it might look like a golden bull run when you look back in 2030, seeing most of the alts you were afraid to buy are significantly up now. some of these alts launched in 2024–25. they went down by 90% after launch, and you had no conviction left as you were too caught up in your own echo chamber with an ignorant, low-effort herd who were waiting for alt szn, while some other folks were killing trades in a couple of trenches being formed in every new quarter. you thought the golden run would be something extraordinary, that it would make you super rich in no time, but it was painful. and while it was happening, you were losing patience. every time you thought the alt szn was back, and you felt like a king, a black swan event happened again. before you learned the impact of a black swan event from wasted influencers, you ended up selling in panic. you fumbled every time the market took a pullback when it was least expected. and the market recovered again when you least expected too. so you always remained underexposed in new opportunities and overexposed in dying coins, still wishful that something magical would happen. but it didn’t happen for you. for some who understood the game, zoomed out, and showed conviction in coins with a long-term outlook even when the market was going down 50% every quarter, they stood strong and became winners of a golden bull run. while the majority of people ended up losing their mental sanity and emotional strength to the market that was supposed to fulfill their dreams, they wasted a couple of years in the market, never learned any work skill, and now they don’t know what to do with their life. after trying all sorts of gambling they could do, they are just consumed by sorrow.

That someone else takes 50 trades a day doesn’t mean it suits your personality. That another trader holds positions for 50 days doesn’t mean you’ll thrive doing the same. Master your own game. Hone the little you do and do it well.

I keep a stack of poker chips on my desk. This reminds me that trading, like poker, is a game of probabilities. Not certainties. Just like in poker, you can’t control the cards you’re dealt or the market’s next move. But you can control how you play your hand. In both games, there are A, B, and C setups. The strength of your setup determines how much you risk, and if it's a "hand" worth playing. The beauty of trading is that we can “fold” bad setups and only play our “pocket aces” or “AK.” Even then, we have no way of knowing what the flop—or the next candle—will bring. But we don’t need to know. With enough well-placed bets on strong setups, the probabilities play out in your favor over time. 🕰 And just like in poker, survival comes down to two things: emotional discipline and risk management. If you let emotions dictate your moves or you risk too much (or too little) on your setups, you won’t last long enough for the math to work in your favor. So don’t be afraid to size up on a high-quality setup—but always protect your stack. In the end, it’s not the player who wins every hand that succeeds, but the one who plays the right hands, risks wisely, and stays in the game long enough for probability to do its job.
