The Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea, Lee Buhm-Soo, is expected to visit the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in January next year. Lee Buhm-Soo is expected to discuss the current status, regulatory measures, and regulatory direction of the virtual asset (cryptocurrency) market with Gary Gensler, the Chairman of the SEC. A financial regulatory official said that intergovernmental regulatory cooperation is very important because virtual assets have the characteristic of being borderless.
