eToro halts cryptocurrency custody services in Germany
eToro, a multi-asset investment platform, announced that from January 21, 2024, the custody of its clients' encrypted assets in Germany will be transferred to a Munich-based encrypted custody service provider, Tangany GmbH, which is supervised by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
After this transfer, eToro Germany will stop its encrypted asset custody services. Customers can still sell or transfer their encrypted assets to another custodian through the eToro platform.
The transfer process is scheduled to begin on January 21, 2024, and is expected to be completed by January 29, 2024. During this period, customers will not be able to access their encrypted assets.
