According to PitchBook data, venture capitalists conducted approximately 15,000 transactions in the United States in 2023, with a total investment amount of $170.6 billion, reaching the lowest level since 2019 and declining by about 30% compared to 2022. This trend is not limited to the United States; global venture capital has also declined. Globally, investors invested $345.7 billion in startups last year, a decrease of 35% compared to 2022 and the lowest record since 2017.
