MetaMask is testing a "transaction routing" feature aimed at changing the way users interact with the blockchain, providing optimal execution and improved user experience. The new feature can transform MetaMask into an "intent-centric" protocol, which means that users will be able to rely on third parties to find the best path for transactions, avoid certain key risks, and transfer power from validators proposing blocks (to earn fees and MEV) to users submitting transactions. It is reported that the new routing technology is being developed by the Special Mechanism Group and will ultimately be available for third-party use.
