Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda discusses reasons for canceling loose monetary policy
According to Jinshi's report, the Governor of the Bank of Japan, Haruhiko Kuroda, stated that the central bank has canceled its large-scale easing policy this week partly to avoid the need for drastic measures in the future. Kuroda mentioned during a parliamentary session that waiting longer to fully confirm the achievement of stable inflation targets would significantly increase upward risks in inflation. He also indicated that after ending the large-scale monetary easing policy, there is an increased possibility of rapid and substantial interest rate hikes. We made this decision after weighing these risks.
