Immunefi: Cryptocurrency losses from hackers and scams hit $336 million in Q1
A report released by Immunefi shows that the cryptocurrency industry has lost $336.3 million to hackers and scams in the first quarter so far. DeFi continues to be a major target for hackers, accounting for 100% of the number of vulnerabilities discovered by Immunefi in the first quarter, while centralized platforms had zero vulnerabilities. Most of the losses were caused by just two projects, Orbit Bridge's $81.7 million and Munchables' $62 million. However, the number of attacks dropped from 74 in the first quarter of 2023 to 61 in the first quarter of this year, a 17.6% decrease from the previous quarter. Compared with the loss of US$437.5 million in the same period last year, the loss record of US$336.3 million decreased by 23.1% month-on-month.
