Trump-themed Meme coin TRUMP has risen nearly 75% in the past two weeks, and some early traders have made unrealized gains of more than 1,600%
ChainCatcher news, according to the analysis of on-chain data provider Nansen, the PoliFi token field is the forefront of the integration of politics, finance and cryptocurrency. Trump-themed tokens have experienced a sharp rise in the past few weeks, creating a new batch of millionaire.
Although the issuance of TRUMP tokens is not directly related to former U.S. President Donald Trump, traders view the tokens as a speculative bet on his ongoing presidential campaign.
The meme coin MAGA (TRUMP) token is up nearly 75% in the past two weeks, according to CoinGecko. The token jumped 14% on Tuesday after the Trump campaign announced it would begin accepting donations in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and SHIB.
In the process, some addresses holding MAGA (TRUMP) saw unrealized gains of over 1,600%. One of the addresses holds over $5.5 million worth of tokens.
Several addresses bought six-figure sums of TRUMP tokens and now hold positions with unrealized gains in excess of $1 million. They are gradually reducing their holdings but not selling in a way that could cause prices to suddenly plummet. As a result, these sales were made ahead of Tuesday's campaign donation announcement.
However, data shows that recent purchasers of TRUMP tokens have seen lower returns on investment and lower overall win rates.
Meanwhile, the value of TRUMP tokens sent to wallets actually linked to Trump has risen to nearly $5 million. A wallet allegedly linked to Trump received $7,100 in TRUMP tokens from the meme coin’s developers between August and October 2023.
Sending tokens to wallets associated with well-known entities is sometimes used as a marketing strategy by meme coin projects, as it can attract attention and spark investor interest.
Earlier news, the Trump campaign officially announced on Tuesday that it would begin accepting cryptocurrency donations, and supporters can donate using "any cryptocurrency accepted through the Coinbase Commerce product." “Limitations and disclosure requirements for cryptocurrency donations will follow Federal Election Commission regulations,” the campaign said.
