Worldcoin suspends operations in Spain due to data protection investigation
Media reports, the Spanish data regulatory authority announced that Worldcoin has legally agreed to cease its activities in Spain by the end of this year. On June 4th, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) stated that Tools for Humanity Corporation, the company behind human identity and financial network Worldcoin, will not resume collecting and processing data until the end of 2024 or when ongoing investigations are finally resolved. Currently, Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), a Bavarian state data protection agency in Germany is investigating how this organization handles personal user data.
