Global ETF Assets Could Reach $35 Trillion by 2035, Bloomberg Analysts Forecast
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas predicts that global assets in ETFs could reach $35 trillion by 2035, triple the current $13 trillion. This forecast is based on a compound annual growth rate of 10%, compared to 17% over the past decade and 25% a decade ago.The low cost, intraday liquidity, tax efficiency and flexibility of ETFs will continue to attract cash and trading volume from investors and traders, leading to more new products, innovative designs and more salespeople. Structural changes overseas favor ETFs over the long term, while the U.S. MF equity class will add another tributary to cash inflows. Also, tokenization may help ETFs.
