Mode integrates Chainlink CCIP as cross-chain interoperability standard
Ethereum layer-2 blockchain Mode has officially integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) today as its interoperability standard. The integration provides Mode with Chainlink’s interoperability features, including Programmable Token Transfers and cross-chain Arbitrary Messaging, which are essential for a diverse range of decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) applications.
“Choosing the only interoperability solution with level-5 security as canonical cross-chain infrastructure can accelerate the long-term growth and adoption of Mode,” stated James Ross, Core Contributor at Mode.
Ross also highlighted the importance of Chainlink CCIP’s advanced features and the ease of deployment for developers within the Mode ecosystem.
Chainlink’s CCIP facilitated over $12 trillion in transaction value so far, according to the announcement. The integration also includes the Risk Management Network, a specialized framework designed to monitor and verify cross-chain operations, safeguarding against potential vulnerabilities that have historically led to significant losses in the DeFi space.
“We’re excited that Mode has chosen to natively integrate Chainlink CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure,” said Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs.
Eid also emphasized CCIP’s top-tier security and its role in enhancing the developer and user experience on Mode’s layer-2 network.
Despite the end of its incentivized campaign for the airdrop of its native token, Mode managed to retain a significant amount of the total value locked (TVL) in its ecosystem. At the time of writing, the network boasts over $629 million in TVL, according to data aggregator L2Beat.
