StarkWare CEO: Starknet will be open for staking by the end of the year
Eli Ben-Sasson, CEO of StarkWare, announced at the ETHCC summit in Brussels, Belgium that Starknet will open staking on its ecosystem by the end of 2024. Ben-Sasson submitted a proposal to the community for improvements to Starknet, suggesting that users can choose to become validators and participate in rewards proportional to the amount of staked STRK tokens. If the proposal is approved by the community, the staking test network on Starknet will be launched soon and will enter the mainnet in the last quarter of 2024. Validators must lock their tokens for 21 days before they can withdraw their funds.
