Warning: Beware of Phishing Emails Impersonating FTX
On July 16th, Scam Sniffer issued a warning to be cautious of phishing emails impersonating FTX. One victim lost vETH worth $875,072 due to signing a malicious transaction in this scam. MistTrack added that the scammer's address for this scheme is 0xaF6B45D8bbB92f1EeE865cEEA73fF2D21C83ed23. The scam funds were exchanged for about 1,400 BNB, with a total of approximately $1.7 million. The scam service provider, Inferno Drainer, has an address of 0xFC4EAA4ac84D00f1C5854113581F881b42b4A745, with a total of $3 million in funds. Please be cautious when signing any documents. Unfortunately, it is best to assume that everything may be a scam. Although fund recovery is possible, it is extremely difficult and often requires cooperation between exchanges, law enforcement agencies, and potentially months or even years of litigation.
