Vitalik: The phenomenon of "one-sided capability trap" is widespread in different types of politics and projects
Vitalik Buterin stated in a post on X that he proposed the concept of "one-sided capability trap" in his comments on the article "Bitcoin Block Size War".Buterin pointed out that one group monopolized all the capabilities, but their views were narrow and biased; while the other group recognized the problem, they were obsessed with opposition and failed to develop executive capabilities. This situation led to the failure of the supporters of large blocks to realize the importance of executive capabilities, and ultimately led to their repeated failures in creating forked chains such as Bitcoin Cash. The community stabilized after multiple splits. Buterin called it the "one-sided capability trap" and believed that this phenomenon is widespread in different types of politics and projects.Vitalik believes: "This phenomenon is widespread in different types of politics and projects. We should better understand how to get rid of this trap."
