However, integrating AI also presents legal challenges, particularly in regards to intellectual property rights. The question of who owns the rights to AI-generated content is complex, as current US copyright law requires human authorship for protection. Filmmakers must navigate this legal landscape carefully to avoid potential legal issues. To protect their works, filmmakers should understand the terms of service for any AI tools they use, have a lawyer review AI service agreements before signing, use blockchain and digital watermarks, register their copyrights, document all creative input, and embed their work with blocking technology.
