NEAR United: Chain Signatures has launched on the mainnet
Illia Polosukhin, co-founder of the public chain project NEAR Protocol, said on the X platform that Chain Signatures is now live on all mainnets. This is a big step towards chain abstraction: Chain Signatures enables NEAR Protocol smart contracts to sign transactions on any blockchain. Where we previously faced liquidity fragmentation in DeFi, all chains will now share a decentralized financial layer. No more dozens of wallets and addresses, no more manual bridging across chains, and no more paying gas fees on each chain's tokens. Instead, all apps will be accessible to users no matter where they are, and apps will be fully multi-chain compatible from day one. Developers can also program more logic directly into their smart contracts.
