Some Ancient Bitcoin Whale Transfers 5 BTC to CEX
According to Arkham monitoring data, an ancient bitcoin whale has just transferred 5 BTC to CEX.
He still holds 1,215 BTC (about $77 million) at his address. His bitcoins were mined in February and March of 2009, just one month after the launch of Bitcoin.
After multiple transfers between 2011 and 2014, his bitcoins sat idle for nearly a decade, during which time their value increased from $474,000 to more than $80 million. The whale woke up about three weeks ago and has so far transferred 10 bitcoins to Kraken in three separate transactions.
