A recent study by Clarify Capital reveals a notable trend among American employees regarding cryptocurrency compensation, with 30% expressing interest in receiving salaries in digital currencies.

The survey highlights that younger generations are more inclined towards this payment method, with 39% of Gen Z and 32% of millennials favoring crypto salaries.

In contrast, only 15% of baby boomers showed similar enthusiasm.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) emerges as the preferred cryptocurrency, with 72% of respondents choosing it over others.

Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH)is the second choice at 43%, followed by the stablecoin USDC (CRYPTO:USDC) at 28%.

Litecoin (CRYPTO:LTC) and Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) complete the top five options, garnering 17% and 15%, respectively.

When asked about their motivations for choosing cryptocurrency pay, over half of the 800 surveyed cited the potential for increased value.

Additional reasons included income diversification, mentioned by 33%, and financial privacy and security, noted by 24%.

However, the study also pointed out significant concerns regarding this shift.

“However, this shift could have its challenges, like volatility, regulatory uncertainty, and limited acceptance. Businesses and employees alike will need to carefully weigh the potential benefits against the risks,” the report states.

In a related finding, one in four U.S. business owners is open to taking out cryptocurrency loans.

The study predicts that within a year, approximately 10% of businesses seeking financing may prefer crypto loans over traditional options.

Among loan types, centralized crypto loans are favored by 47% of respondents, while peer-to-peer loans follow closely at 37%.

Margin loans and flash loans are less popular, attracting only 8% and 11%, respectively.
