In a tweet posted a few hours ago, Senator Cynthia Lummis expressed her support for Scott Bessent saying he will be a “champion for digital assets and a crucial ally in passing my Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.” She said she will “look forward to working closely with the future Treasury Secretary to restore fiscal responsibility!”

President-elect Donald Trump previously selected billionaire Scott Bessent as his choice to become the next secretary of the Department of the Treasury.
Trump also made a statement, confirmed by CNN , praising Bessent “Scott has long been a strong advocate of the America First Agenda. On the eve of our Great Country’s 250th Anniversary, he will help me usher in a new Golden Age for the United States, as we fortify our position as the World’s leading Economy, Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurialism, Destination for Capital, while always, and without question, maintaining the U.S. Dollar as the Reserve Currency of the World.”
Scott Bessent is a billionaire hedge fund manager. He is known for leading Key Square Capital Management, a macro hedge fund he started. He was the chief investment officer at Soros Fund Management where he helped make important financial decisions, like the famous bet against the British pound in 1992.
Bessent has a reputation for understanding global markets. He also supports fewer regulations to help the economy grow and encourage new ideas.
He is also a big fan of cryptocurrencies. In an interview back in July, he stated, “Crypto is about freedom, and the crypto economy is here to stay.”
He also praised Trump’s pro-crypto stance saying that he is “excited about the president’s embrace of crypto and I think it fits very well with the Republican Party.”
Also, Industry leaders, such as Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, have expressed support, viewing Bessent’s appointment as a potential catalyst for more crypto-friendly policies.
If confirmed, Bessent will most likely play a big role in leading the U.S. financial policy and provide much clearer, more detailed rules for the crypto space.
