Arthur Hayes: Trump's team may bypass the Federal Reserve to "print money"
Arthur Hayes posted on social media that Powell is not as cooperative with Trump as he is with Biden. However, this doesn't matter, as Trump's nominee for Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will balance Powell like "bad girl" Yellen.
Analyses suggest that the Trump team may bypass the Federal Reserve's intervention and implement a "money printing" operation through the following three strategies:
- End the conservatorship of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
- Boost economy by devaluing dollar against gold exchange rate
- Implement Supplementary Leverage Ratio (SLR) exemption
