Sonic SVM launches $1M fund for Web3 gaming and AI agents
Sonic SVM (CRYPTO:SONIC), a Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) layer-2 blockchain, has partnered with venture firm Galaxy Interactive to launch a multimillion-dollar fund to support the development of Web3 gaming, AI agents, and social media tools.
The new G.A.M.E. (Game, AI, Meme, Ecosystem) Fund 1 is designed to accelerate innovation in these sectors.
The fund will provide up to $1 million per project, with no limits on the number of accelerator participants.
It will also offer technical support, infrastructure, marketing, and user acquisition help.
Projects supported by the fund will benefit from integration with Sonic's TikTok Applayer, which has surpassed two million users.
Sam Englebardt, founding general partner at Galaxy Interactive, emphasised the fund's mission to back teams building the future of interactive entertainment, leveraging AI and social platforms.
The first investment from the fund has gone to Gomble Games, a protocol transforming traditional Web2 games into Web3 experiences.
Gomble Games has amassed over 110 million unique users across 230 games, and its success in South Korea in 2023 is notable.
The announcement follows the Sonic SVM token generation event on January 7, 2025, which saw the token achieve a market cap of $365 million in its first 24 hours.
Chris Zhu, CEO of Sonic SVM, shared his vision for the future of gaming, stating that AI will create massive interfaces for humans to interact with the digital world. Sonic aims to help build infinite, asset-driven gaming experiences powered by AI.
The potential of AI agents, capable of interacting across platforms like TikTok and X, is seen as a major growth area.
The AI agents market is expected to see significant growth in 2025, with projects like ai16z (CRYPTO:AI16Z) and Hyperliquid (CRYPTO:HYPE) poised for expansion, according to industry analysts.
At the time of reporting, the Sonic SVM (SONIC) price was $0.8126.
