Taproot Wizards to Auction 2,121 NFTs to Raise $34 Million
Taproot Wizards, the Bitcoin Ordinals project that sold 3,000 ‘quantum cats’ last year to raise support for the Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) OP_CAT, is proposing to raise $34 million by auctioning off 2,121 NFTs. Despite being plagued by technical issues, the series sold out quickly, raising 300 BTC in the process, and Wizards will reportedly be selling them to whitelisted buyers for 0.2 BTC ($16,000) from 25 March, with any unsold ones to be sold in a Dutch auction.
