Trump: support for El Salvador's detention of U.S. citizens for violent crimes
President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to extend the “deportation program” to U.S. citizens and his support for El Salvador's detention of U.S. citizens for violent crimes in a meeting with El Salvador's President Bucher. In a video posted by Bucher on social media on the same day, Trump said he wanted to send “natives” to El Salvador to serve their sentences, adding that El Salvador “would have to build five more places,” implying that El Salvador's prison capacity was insufficient to accommodate all the U.S. citizens Trump wanted to send there. all U.S. citizens there.
