Theta Capital completes over $175 million fundraising to invest in blockchain startups
According to Bloomberg, the crypto investment firm Theta Capital Management has completed a fundraising of over $175 million to establish a "fund of funds" to support institutional investors in investing in early-stage blockchain startups.
The fund, named Theta Blockchain Ventures IV, will focus on investing in venture capital firms with specialized expertise in the crypto sector. Ruud Smets, the company's managing partner and chief investment officer, stated in an interview that Theta was founded in 2001 and has been focusing on digital assets since 2018, currently managing total assets of approximately $1.2 billion.
