Circle Announces Mainnet Launch of Circle Payments Network, Supporting Real-Time Cross-Border Settlement with USDC
According to official news from Circle, the Circle Payments Network mainnet is officially live. This network is a blockchain-based payment coordination protocol that allows banks and payment service providers to use USDC on public blockchains for real-time settlement. The Circle Payments Network supports functions such as business-to-business vendor payments, cross-border remittances, fund management, corporate recurring payments, and payroll and bulk payments. The first mainnet participants include Alfred, Tazapay, ConduitPay, and RedotPay, which will open stablecoin payment channels in Latin America and Asia. Circle plans to expand its business to regions such as Nigeria, the EU, the UK, Colombia, India, the UAE, China, Turkey, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Argentina by 2025.
