Ripple Donates $25 Million in RLUSD for U.S. Education
Stablecoins are becoming central to digital finance, currently making up over 50% of all on-chain transaction volume.
Ripple is making a huge initiative to donate $25 million of its US-dollar-backed RLUSD to non-profits DonorsChoose and Teach For America in the United States.
The company announced the news in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, linking to a detailed blog article. Ripple sees this initiative as a model for how stablecoins help bring the global community together in a smarter, faster, and more inclusive way.
What makes this fundraiser special is that it already supports over 31,000 education providers, over 21,000 teachers, and helps in more than 13,000 schools countrywide. A large part of the money will go toward offering more than 280,000 student stipends.
Much emphasis is put on teaching financial skills to students and teachers, helping them stay competitive as everyone moves toward a more digital work environment. Ripple said that the education system should be redesigned to address upcoming possibilities and problems.
According to Ripple’s blog , Ripple highlights how stablecoins like RLUSD are becoming central to digital finance, currently making up over 50% of all on-chain transaction volume. Because they are fast, cheap, clear, and always accessible, cryptocurrencies are perfect for quickly aiding those in need and improving financial inclusion.
This decision reflects Ripple’s ambition to make crypto technology valuable globally, showing new ways for digital assets to make an impact beyond just finance.
