FIFA to Build Exclusive Blockchain Based on Avalanche
According to CoinDesk, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced that it will adopt Avalanche network technology to build its exclusive Layer 1 blockchain. This move follows the launch of an NFT series on the Algorand blockchain during the 2022 Qatar World Cup, marking FIFA's further expansion into the Web3 domain. The blockchain will operate as a customizable L1 chain on the Avalanche network, utilizing the upgraded technology architecture of Avalanche9000. FIFA stated that it will continue to advance Web3 initiatives such as digital collectibles, but did not disclose specific application plans for the new blockchain. Ava Labs stated that this collaboration demonstrates Avalanche's capability to support applications on a global scale.
