Bitcoin today: price remains at $109 after drop and recovery

Tuesday, May 27, 2025 – Bitcoin’s price remains near $109.619 on Tuesday, with no significant changes in the last 24 hours. After a brief drop to $107.500 the previous night, the cryptocurrency has recovered much of its losses and is back nearing $109,5.
Last week, Bitcoin surpassed its all-time high from January 2025, reaching $109.800. The move came after a series of rejections below $107. However, the rally was followed by a quick correction to around $XNUMX.
The market showed strength again on Bitcoin Pizza Day, when the asset jumped to nearly $112.000. This new high coincided with a surge in institutional interest and increasing liquidity on major exchanges.
Starting on Friday, pressure mounted with former President Trump’s tariff recommendations against the European Union, which pushed BTC back to $107.500. Despite this, the cryptocurrency managed to hold this support zone over the weekend, demonstrating resilience from a technical perspective.
On Monday, BTC reached a daily high of $110.500, but has since retreated. The asset is now trading at around $109.500, with a market cap of over $2,18 trillion and 61% dominance over altcoins.
Among other digital assets, most altcoins are down on a daily basis. HYPE, which had been attracting attention for its recent appreciation, fell 3,5%. SUI, XRM and PI also showed losses between 4% and 5,5%.
Ethereum remains stable, trading at US$2.600 after rising 2% in the last day. BNB and TRX registered slight appreciation. In the group of the 100 largest cryptocurrencies, the biggest gains were for QNT, which advanced double digits, in addition to TKX, VIRTUAL and INJ, all with increases of more than 6%.
The total cryptocurrency market cap remains at around $3,57 trillion, reflecting stability even in the face of recent political and technical moves.
