Loopring to Shut Down Wallet on June 30
The Loopring team has announced that it will shut down its wallet by the end of June 2025. According to the Loopring team, Loopring Wallet will go offline permanently on June 30, and users are advised to withdraw their assets. Closing the wallet means that the wallet’s smart user interface, accessible via mobile, will no longer be accessible after that date.
The wallet uses immutable smart contracts to operate. However, access is provided through a companion mobile app. The app will no longer receive updates and will eventually be removed from app stores. The team clarified that closing the wallet will not affect or disrupt the Loopring L-2 protocol.
Early action within the announced timeframe will allow Loopring wallet users to move their assets smoothly and avoid potential disruptions. According to the Loopring update, popular alternatives for transferring assets include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and Rainbow Wallet.
