BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) exchange-traded fund has faced its largest daily net outflow since launch, with more than $430 million taken out of the markets in last friday . The move interrupted a sequence of positive inflows that had begun in April, signaling a significant retreat by institutional investors.

The massive outflows coincided with a sharp drop in the price of Bitcoin, which fell from a weekly high of $110.000 to around $103.000 on Saturday, reflecting widespread selling pressure on the market’s leading cryptocurrency. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading at around $103.700, according to data from TradingView.
Despite the one-off exit, IBIT remains the leading Bitcoin ETF on a global scale. Since its debut, the fund has raised around US$48 billion, with assets under management approaching US$70 billion. Still, the impact of this daily movement has generated attention among analysts, especially considering the broader context of capital outflows from other similar funds.
In addition to BlackRock, other US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs also reported significant losses. Fidelity’s FBTC suffered outflows of approximately $14 million, while Grayscale’s GBTC saw a withdrawal of around $16 million. Bitwise’s BITB lost $35 million, and Ark Invest’s ARKB led its competitors with a $120 million decline.
In total, US Bitcoin ETFs saw $616 million in net outflows on Friday, extending the outflow trend seen the previous day when the amount reached $346 million. This data reinforces the correlation between institutional inflows and cryptocurrency market volatility.
