The new title is the latest release from Mythical Games, a company known for integrating blockchain into the gaming universe. After the relative success of NFL Rivals, which also uses tradable digital asset technology, the developer is now betting on the global strength of the FIFA brand in partnership with Adidas.
In an official statement, the company highlighted: “The Adidas brand and products will be featured in 'FIFA Rivals', offering players access to exclusive digital items, including kits, jerseys and footwear launches inspired by the brand's rich football heritage”.
Mythical Games CEO and co-founder John Linden said: “Bringing Adidas into this world gives players a deeper cultural connection and the chance to represent one of football’s most iconic brands, both on and off the pitch.”
The platform will allow players to buy, sell and trade digital items within Mythical’s own Marketplace. These assets will be registered via blockchain technology, granting users true digital ownership — a model already familiar to cryptocurrency-based gamers.
According to data released by Mythical Games itself, more than 7 million players have already participated in its games, with a volume of US$ 650 million in completed transactions. The expectation is that the association with Adidas and the FIFA brand will expand this reach even further.
The game will be available for Android and iOS users. The company also revealed that it is developing a title inspired by the popular Pudgy Penguins, promising to further expand its presence in the blockchain gaming sector.
