Fed executives: Trump's tariff policy may lead to continued high inflation in the US
Alvedo Musalem, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, said in an interview with the Financial Times of the United Kingdom that President Donald Trump's tariff policy may lead to sustained high inflation in the United States. He warned that until the end of this summer, U.S. policymakers will face economic uncertainty. The Financial Times published the interview on the 6th. Musalem said that Trump's tariff policy may push up U.S. inflation in "one to two quarters," and "it is also possible that the impact of tariffs on prices will last longer."
