Meta Plans to Invest Over $10 Billion in Scale AI, Valuing the Company at Over $29 Billion
According to ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi Data, Meta Platforms is in negotiations with artificial intelligence startup Scale AI over a potential investment that could exceed $10 billion. If completed, this deal would become one of the largest private company financings in history.
Scale AI was founded in 2016 by CEO Alexandr Wang and primarily provides data labeling services to help enterprises train machine learning models. The company has been a major beneficiary of the generative AI boom, with clients including Microsoft and OpenAI. In a 2024 funding round, Scale AI was valued at approximately $14 billion, and this new financing could push its valuation above $29 billion.
