On June 19, according to Bloomberg, the government led by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala survived a no-confidence vote initiated by the opposition. The vote was triggered by a scandal involving $45 million worth of Bitcoin, which had been donated to the state by a convicted drug dealer. In Wednesday’s vote, the opposition’s motion to dismiss the cabinet received only 94 votes, falling short of the majority required in the 200-seat lower house of parliament. As a result, the Fiala government will remain in power until the parliamentary elections scheduled for October this year.
