Trump’s Envoy Optimistic: Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement Could Be Reached Within Days

According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from The Times of Israel, Palestinian-American businessman Bishara Bahbah, who has been mediating between the Trump administration and Hamas, stated that a ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage release agreement could be reached “within days.” Bahbah, who is mediating in the region alongside Egypt and Qatar, said in an interview that with the Israel-Iran ceasefire bringing the Gaza issue back to the top of the regional agenda, he is optimistic about the prospects for an Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement. However, a senior diplomat from an Arab country revealed that he is less optimistic, as Israel still refuses to commit to a permanent end to the war.
The diplomat pointed out that Israel has only proposed a phased release of hostages during a temporary ceasefire, but the order of release is not the key obstacle to reaching an agreement.
