NYSE representatives meet with Crypto Asset Regulatory Working Group to discuss issues related to crypto regulation
Foresight News reports that, according to an SEC memorandum, a delegation from the New York Stock Exchange met with the Crypto Asset Regulatory Working Group on June 24 to discuss issues related to crypto asset regulation. NYSE representatives present at the meeting included General Counsel Jaime Klima, Chief Product Officer Jon Herrick, Deputy General Counsel Patrick Troy, and Chief Regulatory Officer Tony Frouge.
The meeting focused on three main topics: fostering a level playing field by emphasizing equality among market participants and avoiding the application of different regulatory regimes to similar assets and entities; discussing trading considerations for tokenized stocks and the structures that could facilitate such trading; and exploring crypto exchange-traded products, including universal listing standards for crypto spot ETFs and regulatory approaches for other potential crypto-based trading products.
