Citibank sued, accused of allowing a $20 million crypto "pig butchering" fraud to occur
Jinse Finance report, a man in the United States sued Citibank, accusing it of failing to prevent a $20 million cryptocurrency "pig butchering" scam. The plaintiff said he met a fraudster using a fake identity through Facebook, and after investing in the NFT platform "OpenrarityPro," he lost his funds. Citibank is accused of processing 12 suspicious transfers totaling about $4 million without identifying risk signals. The complaint states that the bank was seriously negligent in monitoring and reviewing. The case has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
