Musk Says Tesla Shareholders Will Vote on Whether to Invest in xAI
According to Jinse Finance, after SpaceX prepared to invest $2 billion in xAI, Elon Musk stated that Tesla plans to hold a shareholder vote on whether to invest in xAI. Responding to a post on X, Musk said that any decision to support xAI is ultimately not his to make. Last year, Musk publicly asked X users whether Tesla should invest $5 billion in xAI, noting at the time that he was just testing the waters. However, he also stated that Tesla’s board and supporters would need to give the green light for such a decision. In April this year, Tesla disclosed that xAI was a client last year, and that commercial, consulting, and support agreements with xAI resulted in $188.3 million in expenditures. Most of this transaction ($191 million) involved xAI purchasing Tesla’s utility-scale Megapack energy storage batteries. (Jin10)
