US Congress Launches "Crypto Week" as Lawmakers and Industry Engage in Full-Scale Debate

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Crypto Policy Week has officially kicked off on Capitol Hill in the United States. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (Republican-Louisiana) is set to release the agenda today, with plans to hold votes on three major Republican-led crypto bills: the GENIUS Act, the CLARITY Act, and the Anti-CBDC Act. If all goes smoothly, a stablecoin bill without additional provisions could be sent to the White House this week, while the other two bills will be forwarded to the Senate.
This Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled “Making America the Crypto Capital of the World: Building 21st Century Digital Asset Policy,” focusing on tax policy, reporting requirements, and innovation incentives. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott (Republican-South Carolina) will host a “Future of Digital Assets” roundtable for lawmakers on Thursday morning.
It is worth noting that if amendments are allowed for the CLARITY Act and the Anti-CBDC Act, multiple rounds of voting and extended debates are expected. The House Rules Committee has already published some proposed amendments on its official website.
