Study: Bitcoin’s Volatility Surpasses Gold, Still Falls Short as a Traditional Safe-Haven Asset
According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Decrypt, recent academic research has explored the relationship between Bitcoin and gold as stores of value. The study found that although Bitcoin is often referred to as "digital gold," it currently lacks gold's historical track record, stability, and resilience during crises.
Bitcoin is significantly more volatile than gold, and its correlation with traditional assets is unstable. Nevertheless, as the Bitcoin market matures and its volatility decreases, its role as a tool for portfolio diversification may strengthen.
