U.S. Treasury Secretary Says Third Round of U.S.-China Talks to Be Held Next Week
According to ChainCatcher, Yahoo Finance reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent announced in an interview with Fox News on the 22nd local time that the third round of China-U.S. trade talks will be held next Monday and Tuesday in Stockholm, Sweden. Previously, the two sides had held talks in Geneva and London. The report noted that August 12 is the deadline for the suspension of additional tariffs between China and the U.S., and the latest round of negotiations aims to postpone this final deadline.
According to CNBC, Swedish Prime Minister Kristersson confirmed later on the 22nd that Sweden will host the latest round of talks between Washington and Beijing. He stated on X, "This round of negotiations mainly concerns China-U.S. relations, but it is also of great significance for global trade and the economy."
