Cameron Albert Redman gained unauthorized access to various digital artists' X accounts and used the artists' online identities to direct their followers to fraudulent websites. There, victims would attempt to claim new NFTs. Although the victims believed they were authorizing transactions to receive NFTs into their digital wallets, they were unknowingly enabling the conspirators to transfer cryptocurrency and NFTs out of their wallets. Redman and his accomplices defrauded more than 200 victims, profiting over $794,000.
