Ethiopia suspends new electricity licenses for crypto mining firms
according to Bitcoin.com News, Ethiopia has temporarily suspended issuing new power licenses to cryptocurrency mining companies. Currently, there are 25 Bitcoin mining farms in operation, with another 20 waiting, and the power grid has reached its limit.
The Ethiopian Electric Power Company (EEP) has previously sold "idle power" to miners in foreign currency, but experts warn that this may affect the electricity needs of local residents.
