US Stock Market Remains Calm as Investors Await Upcoming CPI Data
According to ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi News, shortly after the opening on Monday, the U.S. stock market showed little change as investors braced for this week’s data, which could determine how quickly the Federal Reserve resumes interest rate cuts. Currently, the three major stock indexes are up about 0.1%, and the CBOE Volatility Index is hovering just below 16. A series of economic data will be released on Tuesday, including the July CPI, providing an opportunity to assess the impact of tariffs on inflation. Institutional economists noted that this data will be crucial in determining whether the Federal Reserve will cut rates in September.
